Flood: Barr Nomuoja Commends Governor Okowa’s Control Measures

Following various measures employed by the Delta State government to checkmate the recurrence of major flooding  in the state particularly with the opening of Canals in Ughelli, Uvwie, Warri and its environs, the huge negative impacts of the current flood has been drastically eliminated in these areas.

This gesture has informed waves of commendations for the State Government, with the latest coming from the coordinator of Okowa Continuity Movement (OCM), Chief Barr. Ejiro Nomuoja who has showered praises on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his proactive measures in curbing this menace.

Barr. Nomouja, a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekakpamre Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, gave his commendation in an interview with journalists on Sunday, September 30, 2018 during the PDP gubernatorial primary held in Asaba.

He stated that with the opening of new and old canals across the riverine axis of the State, Governor Okowa has showed Deltans his proactive trait which has saved lives and valuable properties.

“We are all aware that the Delta State Government, through the Ministry of Environment, had been massively engaged in opening and freeing up of Canals across the state since 2017. This action by the State Government has shown that Governor Okowa is concerned about the lives and well being of Deltans.

“On behalf of my people in Ekakpamre community, I would like to commend His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for saving us from the annual floods which usually posed a threat to our livelihood during the peak of the raining season. I also thank the Commissioner for Environment, Barr. John Obukohwo Nani for diligently carrying out the directives of Governor Okowa in salvaging the coastlines of Delta State from  destruction.” Nomuoja harped.

On the emergence of Governor Okowa as the flag bearer of the PDP for the 2019 gubernatorial elections, the PDP chieftain expressed confidence that the achievements recorded within the past 3 years will make him victorious at the polls.

“Just as you witnessed today, Delta PDP spoke with one voice, that Okowa is the right man to make Delta State the envy of Nigerians. His emergence as our flag bearer with a record delegate vote, shows that our party members and Deltans in general are happy with the good works going on in the state.”

Barr. Nomuoja called on Deltans and especially PDP faithfuls to rally round governor Okowa to ensure that the good works being witnessed across the State is sustained beyond 2019. “As the Coordinator, Okowa Continuity Movement, my singular message and appeal to Deltans and to all PDP members, is to ensure the total victory of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in the 2019 election and return him as our Governor till 2023.”
