Feast Of Barracuda: Seadogs To Organise Public Lecture To Commemorate Event
As part of activities to commemorate this year Feast Of Barracuda (FoB), the Vito Corsica Deck (Delta North) of The National Association Of Seadogs (NAS Int’l), Pyrates Confraternity, (PC) is organising a public lecture to educate citizens on the challenges, various ways and proper upbringing of the African child.
The public lecture with the theme “THE CHALLENGES OF BRINGING UP THE AFRICAN CHILD: The Role Of The Parents, Society And Religion”, will hold on Saturday 11th May, 2019 at Orchid Hotels in DBS Road, Asaba, at 11.00 am prompt.
According to the Cap’n of the Vito Corsica Deck, Mr. Oghenekaro Ukavwe, the guest speaker expected at the public lecture is the renowned human rights crusader, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, the Senior Special Adviser to Governor Okowa on Child’s Rights Advocacy.
“Feast of Barracuda is an annual event celebrated across the flagship of the PC and it gives the opportunity to interact and feast with families and non members at a public gathering and educate people about some pressing national issues and this year own is on Saturday 11th May, 2019”, he said.
While expressing optimism that the public lecture would be educative and impactful, Karo Ukavwe added that the topic to be treated will include; “All you need to know about bringing up the African child” and “Roles of stakeholders in the upbringing”.
Also speaking, the chairman of the FoB organising committee, Mr. Emmanuel Oghenewoke Asigho, said apart from the knowledge that would be impacted on guests by the guest lecturer, the event will give many the opportunity to see and identify a barracuda.
Asigho who disclosed that there will be evening party at the Deck’s Anchor Point at NAS Anchor Point road off Legislative Quarters junction, Asaba, said parts of the activities marking this year FoB was donation of needed items to the needy.
“There will be lots of fun, just come and enjoy with us” he said.
