Delta Central 2019: Emerhor Accepts To Run For Senate Against Omo-Agege
…Says Delta APC is On a Rescue Mission, As Over 1000 PDP Members join APC
Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor weekend told the Urhobo Elders and Leaders of APC that he accepted to run for the Delta Central Senatorial Seat against incumbent Senator Ovie Omo-Agege after due consultations, saying that APC mission is to rescue Delta come 2019 general elections.
Olorogun Emerhor who disclosed this at an enlarged hosting of Urhobo APC Elders and Leaders at his country home in Evwreni, said Urhobos have given their representative at the senate a ‘red Card’ for dividing Delta and failing to represent the Urhobo interest.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Olorogun Emerhor said; “Now that you have said I should go to Abuja, you contributed your own money, came to me to present the Senate nomination last Sunday and I was shock by your magnanimity unity of purpose. I had to consult my family and others and they gave me their consent; and I have filled and submitted my Senate form; therefore we will go to direct primaries because those looking for automatic tickets are wasting their time”.
Emerhor while thanking Delta Central APC members, elders and leaders for the confidence repose in him, vowed not to not fail them and urged all APC members to ensure that they get their party cards including those who registered online, saying they are eligible to vote on the day of primary.
Speaking, former Presidential Aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Imma Niboro who is vying for the Federal House of Representatives position, commended Emerhor for building the party and making it stable and accepting to run for the Senate position saying that; “I don’t think I will stand by camera to defend rascality. I don’t think I belong to that pedigree. But I can address the fact that Olorogun O’tega Emerhor is a trusted leader and leader of men for the Delta Central Senate position. A man that is honest and dependable.
“I want to say that we will go for direct primaries because that is how you can know the candidate of the people; and we are happy Mr. President has subject himself to direct primaries which is supported by the National Chairman and the National Working Committee of the party. So Delta State APC should conduct direct primaries. On direct primaries we stand”. Niboro emphasized.
The gathering also witness defection of over 1000 followers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC led by a former PDP Chieftain, Princess Mrs Yvonne Damaobakpolor, with a pledge to support President Buhari and Olorogun Emerhor for proper and effective representation.
