Election Postponement: Osanebi Calls For Calm, Says Nigeria Must Work Again
The Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi has charged his constituents in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State and indeed all Nigerians to remain calm in the face of the postponement of the general elections billed to have commenced today by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Rt. Hon. Osanebi while reacting to the postponement in a statement, urged the people to come out in their numbers on 23rd February 2019 to vote for PDP candidates.
The Deputy Speaker noted that delay is not denial, stressing that all must be ready to vote next Saturday.
Rt. Hon. Osanebi maintained that the people’s dream of a Better Nigeria will soon be a reality, saying that Nigerians must not be discouraged by the postponement but should vote for progress.
The Deputy Speaker stated that the desire to make Nigeria working again should be a collective interest and responsibility of all Nigerians, emphasizing that there was no need to be discouraged by INEC’s inability to conduct the scheduled elections.
Rt. Hon. Osanebi explained that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria, pointing out that what the country need now is a leader that will Address the challenges faced the nation.
“I urge my people and indeed all Nigerians to remain calm and wait for 23rd February 2019 to vote PDP all the way. Delay is not denial. All must be ready to vote next Saturday. Our dream of a Better Nigeria will soon be a reality. We must vote for progress. We must make Nigeria working again. No need to be discouraged. Democracy has come to stay in Nigeria”. Osanebi stated.
He appealed for unity of purpose of the People at all times.
