DTHA Committee On Health To Reinvigorate The Sector For Optimal Performance
The Delta State House of Assembly has stressed the need to get the health institutions in the state reinvigorated for optimal performance.
The Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon Austin Uroye stated this at the inaugural meeting of members of the committee at the state House of Assembly Complex in Asaba.
Hon Uroye stated that the Seventh Delta State House of Assembly was determined to making a difference in line with the stronger Delta vision of the state Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
The Lawmaker noted that the health sector was key to assessing the performance of any government, maintaining that his Committee was determined to change the narratives in the state’s health sector from negative to positive.
Hon Uroye who represents Warri South One Constituency in the House, explained that health is a necessity not luxury, pointing out the need for synergy among stakeholders to make the sector better as health is wealth.
The legislator said his committee would be paying regular visits to health institutions across the state for on the spot assessments as well as interact with workers and patients.
Hon Uroye also promised to making the Ministry, Departments and Agencies, MDAs under the Committee supervision more focus and accountable to the people.
The Lawmaker said there must be absolute discipline in the health sector, stressing that the health of the people was of utmost concern to the committee.
Hon Uroye appealed to members of the Committee to enable it succeed.
The Clerk of the House Committee on Health, had briefed members of the task  before the committee and expectations.
