DTHA 2019 : Accolades As PDP Stakeholders In Ika North East Adopt Elekeokwuri As Sole Candidate.

… Explains Why He Is Seeking Reelection.

The Member Representing Ika North East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri says his constituents deserve the best at all times and were not ready to go for anything less.

Addressing a gathering of stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ika North East, who at the occasion adopted him as their sole candidate for the 2019 Delta State House of Assembly Election, Hon. Elekeokwuri said he was seeking reelection into the state legislature due to the burning desire to continue to provide the people quality representation.

The Lawmaker told the party leaders and stakeholders that he had provided quality, effective, efficient and purposeful representation to the people of Ika North East and was better positioned to do more for peace, development and good governance in the council area.

He said the core duty of a legislature is lawmaking and oversight duties, noting that he had sponsored and co-sponsored a lot of bills as well as performed creditably well in oversight functions as Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts and membership of some other committees.

Hon. Elekeokwuri maintained that despite being a first term member of the house, his contributions to debates on any issues raised at plenary has been very outstanding, stressing that the voice of the people of Ika North East were very pronounced on the floor of the house.

He commended the overwhelming love, support and solidarity from the people, particularly PDP stakeholders and promised to sustain the good works and improve on the enviable records.

The Chairman, PDP Ika North East, Chief Godwin Ogadi, disclosed that Hon. Elekeokwuri had fortnight ago before the local government and ward executives of the party declared his intention to seek reelection and commended the Lawmaker for taking a step further to doing same before a larger gathering of party stakeholders drawn from the fourteen wards in Ika North East.

A party leader in the council area, Mr. George Kwuhodu who on behalf of other stakeholders move the motion to adopt Hon. Elekeokwuri as their sole candidate for the forthcoming Delta State Assembly Election, said the Lawmaker had done well as the representative of the people and deserves another tenure.

The motion, seconded by Hon. Obiazikwor was unanimously adopted by the stakeholders when it was put into voice vote by the PDP Chairman in Ika North East, Chief Godwin Ogadi.

Hon. Elekeokwuri thanked the party stakeholders for endorsing and adopting him as their sole candidate for the 2019 Delta State House of Assembly elections and promised never to betray the confidence reposed on him by the people.

He said he was elated by the support and solidarity from the party chieftains.
