DESOPADEC: Osanebi Hails New Board, Says Appointees Will Bring New Innovations to the Commission


The Member Representing Ndokwa East in the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Friday Ossai Osanebi has said that the new board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC will enhance development in the oil and gas bearing communities in the state.

Rt. Hon. Osanebi, the immediate past Deputy Speaker and former Chairman, House Committee on DESOPADEC, stated this after the screening and confirmation of the Governor’s nominees for appointment into the new board on the floor of the State House of Assembly.

The Lawmaker who said the Chairman designate for the DESOPADEC board, Hon Michael Diden and the Managing Director, Chief Askia Ogieh are tested technocrats who will bring new innovations to the system.

Rt. Hon. Osanebi also hailed the appointment of Hon. Daniel Mayuku as Executive Director in the new board among others.

He stressed that Mayuku’s good knowledge on the activities of DESOPADEC as former House Committee Chairman on Finance and Appropriation as well as DESOPADEC will be brought to bear in his new assignment.

The Lawmaker further stated that besides Hon. Diden, Askia and Mayuku, others have the wherewithal to add values to the commission to the benefit of oil and gas producing communities.

Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi congratulated the new board for their successful screening and confirmation by the Delta State House of Assembly inline with the DESOPADEC law.

He called for unity and peaceful coexistence in the Oil and Gas Producing Communities for Development to thrive in the areas.
