Delta State Local Govts’ Auditor-General, Esievo Bags UPU Ambassador’s Award
The Delta State Auditor-General of Local Government, Olorogun Abel Ogheneovo Esievo, at the weekend, at the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Hall, Asaba, headquarters of Delta state, bagged the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Ambassador’s Award.
Olorogun Esievo, who hails from Ekpan-Ovu, Agbon Clan in Ethiope East local government of Delta state, was honoured with the prestigious UPU Ambassador’s Award in recognition of his support and selfless contributions towards the growth of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Asaba branch.
Esievo was also been described as kind-hearted, generous and a detribalised personality, and in recognition of his service to society and mankind in nation building, he was nominated by the Delta State Government for the prestigious Award of Justice of Peace, JP, in 2018 and other numerous awards from Civil Society Organizations and Christian Religious Bodies.
Speaking at the Award ceremony, the President of the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Asaba branch, Mr. Austin Akpede, said the award was given to Olorogun Abel Ogheneovo Esievo for being outstanding and as crusader of Urhobo course, especially for the UPU Asaba branch.
Akpede said Esievo has been a strong financial pillar for the Union, and has always supported them on monthly basis, provides for them their needs and that whenever they have a program and he was invited, he will always attend with his wife, pointing out that they have always seen him as great ambassador of the Urhobo nation.
He described Olorogun Esievo as a complete Urhobo man by all standard, adding that the honour bestowed on him, may not be commensurate to what he has done or been doing for Urhobo UPU, Asaba but that this is just to honour and appreciate him as an Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Ambassador who is happily married to his wife and blessed with children.
