Delta State Government: Ofobruku Promises Enhanced Relationship Between Executive And Legislature

The newly sworn-in Special Adviser on Legislative Matters to the Delta State Governor, Hon. Efe Ofobruku has promised to promote a well coordinated and enhance the already existing cordial relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of government in Delta state.

Speaking to journalists upon resumption of work, a day after his inauguration with four other Special Advisers, Hon. Ofobruku said the two arms of government must partner for a more developed and stronger Delta State.

The former lawmaker who represented Uvwie Constituency in the 5th and 6th Assemblies of the Delta State House of Assembly, stressed that service to the state and its people remains his top priority.

While thanking God for the appointment and Governor Okowa for finding him worthy to serve the state in the present capacity, Hon. Ofobruku promised to discharge his duties diligently.

He said experience counts, maintaining that beside being a vibrant member during his two tenures in the legislature, most of the members of the 7th Assembly were his contemporaries.

Hon. Ofobruku promised to ensure stability in the leadership of the house as well as smooth movements of bills and other correspondence emanating from the state executive to the state legislature.

The former lawmaker stressed that he is a stabilizing force and the bridge between the legislature and the executive arms of the Delta State Government.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated Hon. Efe Ofobruku on his appointment as a Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Legislative Matters.

The Speaker who spoke during the plenary of Wednesday, July 3, 2019, also felicitated with Hon. Ofobruku for the subsequent swearing-in to the exalted political office in the state, alongside four others.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori expressed hope that the former lawmaker will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the new assignment.
