Delta Speaker Assures Journalists of Better Synergy with the Legislature


Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor has assured Assembly Correspondents of better synergy between the Legislature and their various media organizations.

The Speaker gave the assurance during a thank you visit to his office by Journalists covering the State Assembly to appreciate him for appointing one of their own, Comrade Nkem Nwaeke as his Chief Press Secretary, CPS.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor while addressing the Correspondents, said the appointment of Mr Nkem Nwaeke as his Chief Press Secretary came as a result of hard work, dedication to duty, and high level of commitment as an astute practicing journalist in the state.

Guwor noted that he has known Mr Nkem Nwaeke long before he was elected member and later speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, stressing that Nkem had maintained such an enviable standard in reporting the activities of the state legislature.

He commended Mr Nwaeke for displaying a high level of professionalism in the discharge of his duties as a journalist in the media space over the years adding that his diligence to his job has brought him to this point in his career.

The Speaker thanked the crew of Assembly Correspondents for coming to his office to show him gratitude on the appointment of Mr Nkem Nwaeke as his CPS.

Rt. Hon. Guwor admonished the reporters to always work hard in performing their duties, adding that hard work, dedication and commitment pays in every endeavor.

Speaking on behalf of the State Assembly Correspondents, Mr Andrew Ikeahi, lauded Mr Speaker for the appointment of Mr Nkem Nwaeke, staff of Delta Broadcasting Service Warri, as his Chief Press Secretary, saying that the appointment is well deserved appointment.

Mr Ikeahi said members of the assembly correspondents are very happy about the appointment of one their own as the CPS to Mr speaker and assured him of more media coverage of the house.

He noted that Mr Nwaeke has paid his dues in the media profession and has contributed positively to the development of the state through developmental reportage.

Mr Ikeahi who also assured the Speaker of maximum cooperation and support, noted that the new CPS has the best qualities and contacts as a journalist to project the Image of Mr Speaker and the Delta State House of Assembly positively.

Meanwhile, The member representing Warri South 1 Constituency, Honorable Augustine Uroye has described the appointment of Mr Nkem Nwaeke as the Chief Press Secretary to Mr Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor is a square peg in a square hole.

Hon. Uroye, commended Mr Speaker for the appointment stressing that the new CPS has what it takes to project the image of Mr Speaker and the Delta State House of Assembly positively.

He acknowledged that the CPS has done well as a pressman over the years in reporting the most vibrant House of Assembly in the country without issues.

He congratulated Mr Nwaeke on his well-deserved appointment while urging him to remain dedicated and committed to Mr Speaker and the government of the state in media reportage.

The lawmaker wish the CPS well in his new role, pointing out that Mr Nwaeke can function well on his new assignment.
