Breaking News: Delta Records Fourth Case of COVID-19

Delta State has recorded its fourth case of the deadly coronavirus disease, Covid-19.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC confirmed this in its daily announcements of new cases.
“As at 11:20 pm 15th April there are 407 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 128 have been discharged with 12 deaths. 18 Lagos, 12 in Kano, 2 in Katsina, 1 in Delta, 1 in Niger”. NCDC Announced.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is yet to react to this fourth case as at press time.
Recall that the State recorded its index case of COVID-19 on April 7 and also recorded its first death from the virus on April 9.
On Tuesday, April 14, Governor Okowa announced a further 14 days lockdown of the state after the expiration of an initial 14 days lockdown period.
Okowa said that the extension was necessary to identify, isolate and detect contact cases. “It is for public good and interest of our health. I urge all Deltans to cooperate with us”, he said.
This extension will bring the total lockdown days to Four Weeks, as the state Commissioner of Police has been directed to enforce strict restriction of movements from dawn to dusk in the state which began tonight.
The statewide lockdown which commenced on April 1, has also been greeted with mixed feelings which has panned out into protests, extra-judicial killings and including calls by activists to review the modalities of the lockdown.
