Delta Police implores Miyetti-Allah to Unite Against Common Enemy
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Zanna Ibrahim has called on the leadership of Miyetti-Allah in the State to bring to an end schisms within their fold and unite in the fight against criminal elements in the State.
CP Ibrahim made this call on Tuesday, 4th July, 2017, when the leadership of Miyeti-Allah and the two communities of Adonishaka and Umutu in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State visited him at his office at the Police Headquarters Asaba at the instance of the Commissioner.
While commending the leadership of Adonishaka and Umutu for the maturity shown so far in the handling of allegations of wrong-doing against their people by the criminal elements amongst the herdsmen, the CP called for credible information at all times from his guests to enable the police and other security agencies serve them better.
Ibrahim stated that all hands must be on deck towards finding an acceptable and a lasting solution to the herdsmen/farmers’ lingering crisis, especially in the state. He apprised the visitors of the intention of the state government, working in conjunction with the security agencies, to set up a committee consisting of selected persons from the communities in all the affected areas in the State with a view to nipping in the bud tendencies that if left unchecked, may degenerate to a very bad situation.
On their part, the spokesman for the two communities thanked the CP for his ever forthright and swift positive response to issues of safety and security in the State and pledged to always avail the command of useful information that will help in the peace process.
The meeting is part of a deliberate and conscious effort by the Command to ensure that peace, order, safety and security continues to reign in Delta state.
