Delta Lawmakers Deliver Verdicts on Petitions


Hon. Mathew Omonade presented reports on two referred petitions



The Delta State House of Assembly convened today for a plenary session, with Hon. Mathew Omonade presenting reports on two referred petitions.

The first petition involved “Alleged Fraudulent and Illicit Practices of Hascket-Gee Nig. Ltd, Kenneth George and Peter Enyen Defrauding Delta State Government vide Printing and Sales Of Delta State Local Government Council Motorised Emblem without Authorisation”.

Hon. Omonade stated, “Racall that this bill was submitted on 6th Nov, 2024, and referred to the committee for public petition.”

Following the presentation of the report, Majority Leader Hon. Emeka Nwaobi moved a motion to accept and review the submitted report.

The house unanimously dismissed the petition due to a lack of merit.

The second petition concerned “Alleged Unjust Termination of the Appointment of Mrs. Ukre Anna and the Removal of her name from Payroll by the Hospitals Management Board (HMB)”.

Hon. Omonade’s report was supported by the majority leader, Hon. Emeka Nwobi, Hon. Charles Emetulu, and Hon. Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, who urged the house to support the petitioner, and benefit from her unblemished service record.

The whole House was in favor of Mrs. Ukre Anna, therefore Speaker Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, directed the chairman of the House Committee on Public Petition to reach out to the HMB to change the termination of appointment to retirement and provide her with all accumulated funds.
