Delta Lawmaker Launches Empowerment Programme On H.S.E And Maritime Industry

As part of his 58th Independence Day Celebration’s package to his constituents and in a bid to further compliment the Prosperity Agenda of Governor Okowa led administration, the member representing Ukwuani state constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Dr.) Alphonsus Chukwutem Ojo has launched a training programme for youths in his constituency.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba on Monday, Dr. Alphonsus Ojo said that the potential beneficiaries will undergo trainings on two programmes; “Health Safety & Environment and as well as Maritime Industry”.

The maritime industry is a prosperous one and very vast. It has the capacity to create jobs opportunities for the youths and equally revitalise the Nigerian economy. In fact over millions of jobs opportunities for people with very good pay and working benefits as well.

While, Health Safety and Environment (HSE) has to do with practical aspects of environmental protection and safety at work. It is what organizations must do to make sure that their activities do not cause harm to anyone. From a health & safety standpoint, it involves creating organized efforts and procedures for identifying workplace hazards and reducing accidents and exposure to harmful situations. HSE programmes also include measures to address ergonomics, air quality, and other aspects of workplace safety that could affect the health and well-being of employees and the overall community.

The lawmaker disclosed that he has concluded plans with the trainers that would train the youths on the programmes which will kick off soon in batches.

Speaking in the course of the interaction, the lawmaker reviewed how he has spent some millions of naira so far, trying to put everything in order. The knowledge and certifications the potential beneficiaries of the programmes will obtain after the training will help to easily secure jobs for most of them in  the Niger Delta region especially.

The lawmaker urged Ukwuani youths to utilise the opportunity once the forms for the Training are made available.

The lawmaker expressed optimism on his chances of wining the Delta State House of Assembly primary election billed for 4th October, 2018 owing to his achievements and antecedents and to enable him consolidate on them, he reviewed how the PDP stakeholders of his LGA have been contributing massively to his success story, for which he remains grateful to them.
