Breaking News: Delta Confirms 8 New Cases Of COVID-19
Cases of Coronavirus disease, COVID-19 in Delta State have skyrocketed to 17 with the confirmation of additional 8 new cases today, May 1, 2020.
The cases which were confirmed this morning, is contained in an infographics published by the State Government on its official Facebook Handle.
Just yesterday, the state confirmed its 8th and 9th cases of the virus infection. The confirmation of these cases, is coming barely 24 hours after a partial lifting of a 29-day lockdown of the state.
The rise in confirmed cases may be connected to the establishment of a mobile COVID-19 testing laboratory in the State at the Asaba Specialist Hospital. However, Asaba Metro is yet to very this claim.
Meanwhile, the Christian Association Nigeria (CAN) Delta State chapter, yesterday, got the approval of the State Government to resume Service on Sunday, May 3. A development which some analysts have termed as a wrong approach to defeating the spread of COVID-19 in Delta.
Recall that Delta State recorded its index case of COVID-19 on April 7 and recorded its first death from the virus on April 9.
The state has only discharged two COVID-19 patients who were successfully treated at FMC Asaba and had also recorded two deaths.
