Delta-Born Success Egbekoba Shatters Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Reading Aloud
A talented young Nigerian, Success Egbekoba, has made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for the Longest Time Reading Aloud by an Individual, achieving an impressive 250 hours.
Egbekoba surpassed the previous record of 215 hours set by Samson Ajao. The reading marathon took place at the College of Education Warri, where Egbekoba demonstrated her determination and perseverance, overcoming initial technical hitches to emerge victorious.
The Delta State-born entrepreneur and literacy advocate explained that the purpose of the reading-aloud marathon was to promote literacy, particularly among young adults who are increasingly drawn to cyber fraud over education.
“The purpose of this reading-aloud marathon is to promote literacy, especially this time when young adults prefer cyber fraud to education,” Egbekoba said. “It’s also designed to encourage every child to be committed and pursue their dreams and aspirations.”
Egbekoba emphasized that the program aimed to support the less privileged who lack access to educational opportunities. “It was also designed to encourage every child, particularly the girl child or women, to pursue their dreams to achieve their heart’s desires,” she added.
With this remarkable achievement, Egbekoba has not only broken a world record but has also inspired a love of reading and learning among young Nigerians.
