Delta At 28: Elekeokwuri, Emetulu, Guwor Felicitate With Deltans, Call For Greater Unity
As Delta State marked 28 years creation anniversary, some members of the State House of Assembly have spoken on the need for a more focused and united people.
The Member Representing Ika North East, Hon Anthony Elekeokwuri, Ndokwa West, Hon Charles Emetulu and Warri South-West, Hon Emomotimi Guwor said there is a better prospect for Delta State.
The Lawmakers who spoke in separate interviews immediately after Tuesday’s plenary of the house, felicitated with Deltans on the anniversary and charged all not to relent in their support for peace and good governance in the state.
The Member Representing Ika North East Constituency Hon Anthony Elekeokwuri thanked God for leading the state thus far and expressed optimism of better days ahead.
Hon Elekeokwuri said the smart agenda of the present administration had placed the people above any other interest, maintaining that all the sectors of the state economy will continue to witness growth and development under the leadership of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
“Delta at twenty eight was worthy of celebration as successive administrations had left landmarks of practical development in all facet of the state’s economy. The legislature had contributed in no small way to the development of the State in line with it’s constitutional mandate through effective lawmaking and oversight functions”, Elekeokwuri submitted.
Hon Charles Emetulu, Ndokwa East Constituency, said much have been achieved in the state in the past twenty eight years, stressing that the state will continue to witness development with peace and stability.
Hon Emetulu commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for taking development in the state much higher and urged Deltans to keep cooperating and giving their support to the PDP led administration in the state.
“Delta state had come of age having experienced development in all parts of the state. When the State was created in 1991 Asaba the state capital was just a small enclave but today had witnessed development befitting of a state capital”. Emetulu stressed.
For his part, Hon Emomotimi Guwor who represents Warri SouthWest Constituency in the House, acknowledged the resilience disposition of Deltans towards a better and more developed State.
Hon Guwor while stressing on the need for sustained peace and unity among the people, said Delta is a very viable state in the commit of states.
The Lawmaker stated that the state is on a fast
lane in terms of development, noting “The state had witnessed growth, peace and progress over the last twenty eight years”..
He said the present administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had continued to impact meaningfully on the state’s development by building on the foundation laid by previous administrations.
Hon Guwor called on Deltans to continue to support the policies and programmes of government in order to enhance more development.
