Delta Assembly To Hold Public Hearing On Maternal and Perinatal Deaths Surveillance and Response Bill
The State House of Assembly will on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 hold a public hearing on the Delta State Maternal and Perinatal Deaths Surveillance and Response Bill.
The Public Hearing is being organized by the House Committee on Health and scheduled to hold by 12noon at the Press Centre, Delta State House of Assembly Complex, Okpanam Road, Asaba.
The Chairman of the Committee, Hon Austin Uroye in a statement called for the submission of memoranda on the bill titled, “Delta State Maternal and Perinatal Deaths Surveillance and Response Bill 2019”.
Consequently, interested individuals, organizations, and bodies as well as other relevant stakeholders have been requested to submit twelve copies of written memoranda to the Secretary, House Committee on Health, Delta State House of Assembly complex, Asaba on or before Tuesday, 18th February 2020.
Hon Uroye in the statement particularly called for active participation of the Delta State Ministry of Health, the Health Management Board, Delta State Contributory Health Scheme, Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, the Nigeria Medical Association and the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, among others at the public hearing.
He said the Delta State Maternal and Perinatal Deaths Surveillance and Response Bill was committed to the House Committee on Health for further legislative actions after it was read the second time on the floor of the State legislature.
The Lawmaker enjoined the general public to by this announcement be a part of the exercise and contribute to the making of the new law.
