Delta Assembly To Enact Nomadic Cattle Rearing Control Law


The Delta State House of Assembly today at plenary moved to enact a law to provide for the Control of Nomadic Cattle Rearing in Delta State as the member representing Ughelli-South State Constituency, Comrade Izeze R.Y. Reuben moved a motion for a Bill to provide for the Control of Nomadic Cattle Rearing in Delta State, to establish the Delta State Advisory Council on Grazing, to Repeal the Control of Movement of Animal Law 2009, and other matters connected thereto and the motion was seconded by the member representing Ika-North East, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri.

The motion for the Bill was adopted by the House and passed first reading and was adjourned to 14th December 2016 for second reading.

The sitting also witnessed a motion for the first reading of a Bill for a Law to establish the Delta State Environmental Management Agency which was moved by the member representing Ika-North East, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri and was seconded by Oshimili-South, Rt. Hon. Peter Onwusanya and the motion as adopted by the House and passed first reading and was adjourned to 15th December 2016 for second reading.

The House was adjourned to Thursday 17th November, 2016 at 10.00 am following a motion moved by Majority Leader, Hon Tim Owhefere and seconded by the member representing Ethiope East, Hon. Evance Ivwurie.
