Oborevwori thereafter informed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their Curriculum Vitae and appear before the House tomorrow, September 20, 2017 for screening.
It will be recalled that the former DSIEC Board was sacked by the House on the grounds of noticeable defects in the law which brought them into the Commission. Thereafter a new bill for the electoral body was sent in by the Executive which was swiftly passed by the House.
Meanwhile, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had in the early hours of the day at the Government House, Asaba, gave assent to the New Electoral Law of the State. The governor penned his signature to the passed law alongside the amended Local government law.
Also at plenary, the house witnessed the resumption of ex-Speaker Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya who was impeached on May 11, 2017 and stayed of House activities for a period of 4 months.
Igbuya stepped into the Chambers at about 11:48am but received a low profile reception from members. He quietly took his sit at the row of former House Speakers and long term serving members.
