Delta Assembly Gets New Principal Officers For Seventh Assembly


The Delta State House of Assembly has approved the lists of principal officers for the Seventh Assembly sent to it by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Delta State Chapters of the PDP and APC in their separate letters read by the Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori on the floor of the House at today’s plenary, conveyed the choice of the parties for the various presiding positions in the Seventh Assembly.

The PDP which has a total of Twenty-Six (26) lawmakers, appointed fourth term lawmaker, Hon Tim Owhefere, member representing Isoko North Constituency as the Majority Leader of the House, thus, retaining his previous position in the Sixth Assembly.

Hon Pat Ajudua, member representing Oshimili North and Hon Oboro Preyor, member representing Bomadi also retained their previous positions in the Sixth Assembly as Chief Whip and Deputy Majority Leader respectively.

Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, member representing Uvwie was appointed as Deputy Chief Whip, while Hon Festus Okoh, member representing Ika South is the.Majority Whip.

The APC with Three (3) lawmakers, appointed Hon Innocent Anidi, member representing Ethiope East Constituency as the Minority Leader and Hon Moses Anaughe, member representing Ughelli North II as Minority Whip.
