Delta 2019: Okowa Continuity Agenda Embarks On Massive Campaign For Okowa’s Reelection


…Sensitizes Deltans on PVC Collection.

With the 2019 general election around the corner, several support and political groups have intensified their presence in chanting the course of their preferred candidates to victory.

In Delta State, the Okowa Continuity Agenda on Saturday, January 21, 2019, stormed the streets of Asaba in a gigantic display to drive home their mission of returning Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for second term.

The group in a large motorcade toured the length of the popular Nnebisi road, from Ogbogonogo Market through FMC round about down to Anwai/Government house road sensitizing residents of Asaba on the need to get their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs and vote for Governor Okowa come March 2, 2019.

Speaking with Journalists at the end of the rally, the Director General, Okowa Continuity Agenda, Mr. Jude Nwaeni called on Deltans to vote wisely for the prosperity of the state and hence Deltans can testify of the goodwill and works of Governor Okowa, they should reelect him to continue his good works beyond 2019.

According him, “Our call to Deltans is that, they should vote wisely because electing the right person into the position of leadership of this nature, has alot to tell in the prosperity of the individuals of the state. If Deltans have really seen and can testify of the goodwill and works of Governor Okowa, why can’t we come out and vote for him so that these good works and goodwill can continue beyond 2019.”

“Governor Okowa has really done very well in the past three years. Is it in terms of roads, Okowa has constructed more than 300 roads. Look at the Asaba Stadium which was abandoned by past governments but Okowa in his first tenure, got this Stadium to International Standards where competitions of International Standards have been hosted in Asaba.

“Look at the Asaba International Airport, it was abandoned at a point but his administration has brought it back. Is it in the area of technical education, he has equipped more of our technical schools and in the youth empowerment programmes, he has done alot. So the people can testify of it and that is the more reason we all coming out to really canvass vote for Governor Okowa.” Nwaeni emphasized.

The DG noted that, it was on this premise that the group came on board to sustain the goodwill enjoyed by Deltans under the Okowa led administration, stressing that, Governor Okowa must come back reeelcted.

“This group came on board as a result of the fact that, everyone has seen that our good governor. His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is a man to be reckoned with. This is the man who has done well, the man who has affected lives, a man who has come to serve the people and this group came to join forces in complimenting his efforts by canvassing votes for his second term bid. As a matter of necessity, this group is a selfless group because we believe in the vision of Governor Okowa.”

He further explained that, “What we have done today aside canvasing for votes and campaigning alongside the PDP and Okowa campaign organisations is that, we took out time to go round the streets of Asaba both the Market places and different shopping malls to chant the good will of Governor Okowa and also used the opportunity to sensitize people on the need to get their voters card because, everyone must understand that, exercising their franchise is a priority.

“So we are using this crusade to sensitize members of the public, that they should not go to sleep. They should know that there is something more serious that is at stake; that is the election of 2019 because when you vote the right, that is only when you can enjoy the dividends of democracy.”

Mr Jude Nwaeni expressed appreciation to the convener and facilitator of Okowa Continuity Agenda, Sir Frank Akpokueze who he described as the financial backbone of the group and a true advocate of Okowa’s reelection bid.

“Sir Frank Akpokueze has championed the course of ensuring that this group does not suffer. He has been there for us financially and otherwise since the inauguration of this group. He has been the financial backbone. All we have been doing can not be successful if not for his tremendous support financially. So we really want to thank him even as we call on more patriotic individuals to come out and support the good works of Governor Okowa.”
