Deaconess Oborevwori Charges Delta Youths on Godly Living
Deltans particularly youths have been charged to desist from all forms of evil and criminal tendencies and surrender their lives to God, to fulfil their God-given destinies.
The state governor’s wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, gave this charge during the birthday celebration of Hon. Joan Onyemaechi on July 7, 2023, in Asaba.
Speaking at the event, Deaconess Oborevwori urged the youths to dare to be different in their life pursuits, like Joseph and Esther in the bible who against all odds brought honour to God and their families.
While encouraging them to genuinely surrender their lives to God to fulfil their God-given destinies, the Governor’s wife also stressed the need for mothers to be firm and focus on the upbringing of their children, describing the youths as future investments of any nation.
The state governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Johnson Erijo, the immediate past Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, Pastor Greatman Chukwuka, commended the celebrant, for impacting lives positively in the society and for propagating Christ through her birthday celebration.
They advised mothers to give attention to the well-being of their children to correct the societal ills of the present age.
In a sermon titled “Mothers Take Charge” the immediate past First Lady, Dame Edith Okowa reading from Deuteronomy 6: 6-9, explained that a mother is expected to nurse her children from the cradle to adulthood, noting that fathers give instructions, but mothers take time to teach the children Godly virtues, good morals and sound character.
She advised mothers to up their game, and spend quality time with their children, stressing that the pursuit of material things and fame had made many mothers fail in their responsibilities resulting in moral decadence in society.
The celebrant, Hon. Joan Onyemaechi thanked God for the gift of life, saying the occasion was aimed at bringing glory to God and to win souls to the kingdom.
Popular gospel artiste, Frank Edward and King William Praise Team thrilled the congregation with songs of praise.
