Dame Okowa Celebrates Christmas With Delta Children
Wife of Delta Governor and Founder O5 Initiative, Dame Edith Okowa on Wednesday, December 18, organized Christmas Party for Children from across the 25 Local Government Areas of the State.
The colourful celebration held in Government House Asaba, had in attendance over 1000 Children, Mothers and Caregivers, Focal persons of O5 Initiative and wives of government appointees.
Dame Okowa who was visibly excited, danced with the Children and expressed gratitude to God for yet another Christmas Party and for safe journey granted for all who made it for the event.
She said: “We are here to say thank you Jesus for our Families are complete, the Peace in Delta and for Journey Mercies. We are no longer afraid to travel or organize events because of security issues. We give thanks to God.”
The First Lady also thanked God for the robust synergy that exists between the three arms of Delta Government which she asserted has contributed to development in the State.
While praying for a better 2020, Dame Okowa led the Children into a session of worship songs.
The Children were treated to various fanfares including dance competition, recitations, Bible quiz with prizes given to winners.
Santa Claus, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman and other Disney characters were also on ground to entertain the Children.
Climax of the party was the cutting of the Christmas cake by Dame Edith Okowa and the Children.
