COVID-19: Do Not Panic, Stay Safe, Guwor Charges Warri South-West Constituents
The Member Representing Warri South West Constituency, Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Emomotimi Guwor has charged constituents not to be apprehensive over the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing the people at the commencement of awareness campaign and distribution of protective materials across communities in the constituency, Hon Guwor said Covid-19 can never take the place of happiness and development in the lives of the people.
The Lawmaker said the effort was part of his contribution to the health and safety of the constituents as well as to further advance the unrelenting strives of the state government to wade off Covid-19 from shores of Delta State.
“Today in solidarity for the fight against the global pandemic Coronavirus, I am in my Constituency to create awareness and provide my people with basic medical supplies, which include some IR Thermometer Rapid Testing Device for Covid-19, Packs of Hand Sanitizer and Nose Marks. It is indeed a difficult time for the people and we must compliment the efforts of the State Government in making the State safe”, Guwor stated.
The Delta State House of Assembly Member who is the Chairman, House Committee on DESOPADEC, advised the constituents not to panic but to always observe all precautionary measures as enumerated by World Health Organisation and other concern bodies.
Hon Guwor charged the people to improve on their personal hygienes, ensure regular washing of hands and use of hand sanitizers, avoid crowded places, maintain distance apart with one another and restrict movements to prevent the diseases.
He also urged the constituents to help spread the message of hope, eat healthy, exercise regularly and to make use of approved channels of communication should they notice any symptom of the deadly Covid-19.
Hon Guwor said “I enjoin you to help create and support the Stop the Spread of Coronavirus Campaign”, commending Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for taking practical steps in protecting the lives of deltans.
The Lawmaker who demonstrated how to use the protective materials to boat riders and their passengers said the coronavirus is a deadly disease that the only known cure as at today is to stay safe.
A Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on political matters, Pastor Aret Akinmotubu, a Health officers in the local government, Mrs Regina Sakorowa and some of the beneficiaries, thanked Hon Guwor for the effort to safe guard his constituents from the deadly disease.
The high point of the event was distribution of hand gloves, sanitizers, soap, buckets and thermometers to the boat riders and their passengers at the various jetties and other places visited.
