Court Orders Arrest of Mercy Chinwo’s Manager Over Alleged $345,000 Diversion
A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued a warrant of arrest against Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the manager of gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
This development came after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought a motion exparte seeking the manager’s arrest.
The court granted the order based on allegations that Onyedikachukwu diverted $345,000 of Mercy Chinwo’s earnings without her knowledge or consent. The EFCC submitted that the manager’s actions constituted a criminal offense, and his arrest was necessary to compel his appearance in court.
According to the EFCC, they received a petition from Mercy Chinwo against her manager, prompting the investigation.
The commission’s counsel, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari, informed the court that a public summons would be issued to declare him wanted if the manager was not arrested.
The case has been adjourned until January 24 for the manager’s arraignment.
