Christmas: Dame Okowa Thanks God for Sparing Lives Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic
Wife of Delta Governor, Dame Edith Okowa has offered special thanks to God for sparing the lives of Nigerians during the peak of the 2020 global Coronavirus pandemic.
Dame Okowa expressed her gratitude during this year’s Christmas Party organised for Children in the state by the office of the First Lady on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Government House, Asaba.
The event devoid of the usual funfair, was organised inline with the Covid-19 protocol with select Children across the 25 local government areas of the state in attendance.
The First Lady who snowballed her speech into a praise session, thanked God for saving Nigeria and the African continent from the deadly Covid-19 as against various predictions made during the pandemic.
“We have come here to say Father we thank you. 2020 is the year we should thank God. With so much challenges, the Lord kept us. He went ahead of us, that is why those many predictions given before Covid-19 failed. We are complete, our Children are alive, our families are alive, we give him praise.”
Dame Okowa while projecting year 2021 as a year of restoration, urged everyone to put God first in their plans for the new year and prayed that year 2020 will end well for all.
Various gift items were presented to Children as Santa Claus, Mickey Mouse, Spiderman and other Disney characters were also on ground to entertain the Children.
Highpoint of the party was the cutting of the Christmas cake by Dame Edith Okowa and the Children.
