Workers Day: CEPEJ Boss Commends Nigerian Workers, Says They Are Heroes
As the country marks another milestone in the history of labour, the National Coordinator of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade (Chief)
Sheriff Mulade has commended Nigerian workers for their contributions and dedication to nationbuilding.
The CEPEJ Boss gave the commendation on Friday May 1st, 2020 to mark this year’s May Day. He said Nigerian workers have, through their hard work and dedication to duty, helped to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19 now ravaging the world.
While appreciating the workers for their tireless efforts in the public and private sectors, Comrade Mulade specially praised those in the health sector for putting their lives on the line to save others from the deadly virus COVID-19, referring to them as the Country’s Heroes of the Moment.
He particularly commended medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, ambulance drivers, NCDC volunteers, auxiliary staff, cleaners, those working in isolation centers, care givers, general hospital personnel and all other workers who put their lives at risk to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the Country.
He charged all Nigerians to support the Federal and State Governments, as well as NCDC directives on lockdown, personal and environmental hygiene, social distancing and the compulsory wearing of face masks, as the best ways to further contain the spread of COVID-19.
