Burna Boy Behind Speed Darlington’s Arrest – Deji Adeyanju

Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has revealed that Nigerian music star, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is behind Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington “Akpi’s” arrest in Owerri, Imo State.

Recall that ASABAMETRO had reported that Adeyanju revealed that Speed Darlington was arrested on Tuesday via a post shared on X, but did not disclose the reason for his arrest.

Adeyanju wrote, “Our client Speed Darlington a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria.”

Confirming the reason for his arrest late Wednesday, Adeyanju via another post on X, berated Burna Boy’s action.

Adeyanju wrote, “Burna Boy behind harassment of Speed Darlington by the police. This is someone who has been singing against oppression and forming junior Fela now oppressing Akpi.”

He added that Darlington’s arrest occurred during his return to Nigeria for a show.

However, the reasons for the Darlington arrest remained unclear.
