BREAKING:  Farotimi Denied Bail, Case Adjourned to Dec 20


The magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State has denied the human rights activist, Dele Farotimi, bail.

Recall that on Monday, December 9, 2024, Sowore disclosed that Farotimi was granted N50m bail with a surety in the same amount, who must provide landed property as collateral.

He wrote, “The first hurdle was crossed. @DeleFarotimi was granted bail of N50 million naira surety in the like sum with someone with landed property. The Case was Adjourned to 29 January 2025.”

In Tuesday’s ruling, the presiding magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, adjourned the application of bail to December 20 after the counsel to the police, Samson Osobu, proved that the bail application submitted by the defendant was incompetent and irregular.
