Bobrisky Never Served Prison Sentence – Kirikiri Traditional Leader Alleges
The Baale (traditional leader) of Kirikiri Town, Babalola Shabi, has alleged that controversial social media personality Bobrisky did not serve his 2024 prison sentence as widely believed.
According to Shabi, Bobrisky smuggled eight Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards into the Kirikiri custodial facility and used them to funnel N35 million through Point of Sale operators in the area, allegedly to bribe prison officials for preferential treatment.
Shabi made the revelation during a town hall meeting organised by the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday, as part of events marking the National Police Week.
“Before the truth came out, everyone believed he was in Kirikiri serving his time. But the reality is that Bobrisky was living comfortably outside the prison walls, thanks to a criminal collaboration involving some officials,” Shabi claimed.
He added that the prison officials who aided Bobrisky have since been suspended.
Shabi stated that he personally called in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after summoning the POS operators to his palace, which led to tracing the transactions and decoding the money trail.
“I personally called in the EFCC after I summoned the POS operators to my palace. From there, they were able to trace the transactions and decode the money trail. It was shocking how N35 million could be sourced from around here so quickly. Clearly, this was not a one-man job. The officials who aided him have been suspended.”
Recall that Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for abusing Naira notes in 2024. However, popular social media personality Very Dark Man claimed that Bobrisky did not serve his sentence, alleging that he paid EFCC officers to drop money laundering charges against him.
