Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez Finalize Divorce, Agree to Maintain Separate Assets
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez has officially finalized their divorce, bringing an end to their marriage that began in July 2022.
According to TMZ report, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. She listed April 26 as their date of separation.
As part of the divorce agreement, both parties will maintain their separate possessions, including their private businesses and project earnings. Neither Affleck nor Lopez will pay spousal support to the other.
Affleck, 52, will retain his stake in Artists Equity, the production company he co-founded with Matt Damon in 2022, just four months before his marriage to Lopez. The company has produced several notable movies, including ‘Air’, ‘Unstoppable’, ‘The Instigators’, ‘Small Things Like These’, and ‘The Accountant 2’.
On the other hand, Lopez will keep her project income from films like ‘Atlas’, ‘This Is Me… Now’, ‘The Mother’, ‘Shotgun Wedding’, and ‘Marry Me’.
The settlement also stipulates that Lopez will drop Affleck as her last name and revert to Jennifer Lynn Lopez. The pair has agreed to sell the $61 million house they bought together, although details of the sale remain private.
In a previous statement, Lopez revealed that the split had a profound impact on her, saying it almost “took me out for good.” However, she expressed no regrets over her decision.
