Baba Tee Admits Sexual Encounter with Ijoba Lande’s Wife, Apologises
Yoruba Nollywood actor, Babatunde Tayo, popularly known as Baba Tee, has admitted to having a “short” sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker, Ganiyu Morufu, aka Ijoba Lande.
The actor’s confession came during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTokers on Sunday, reversing his previous denial of the affair.
Earlier, Baba Tee had challenged Lande to provide evidence supporting the allegation or face legal action for defamation.
Recall that in a recent interview, Lande accused his wife of infidelity, claiming that at least 21 men in the entertainment industry were involved with her. Among those he named was Baba Tee, mentioning him both in an Instagram post and a viral interview.
In his initial response, Baba Tee denied the accusations, asserting that he had only met Lande’s wife once, introduced by actress Marygold last year. According to him, Marygold presented Dara as a content creator and upcoming artiste, and he only discovered her true identity later.
However, in a surprising twist, Baba Tee admitted to the sexual encounter, claiming it was a brief incident influenced by alcohol during a game of ‘Truth or Dare’ with Dara and Marygold.
He explained, “When Marygold and Dara came to my house, Marygold said she wanted me to be an MC for an upcoming programme. She didn’t tell me she was coming with anyone and introduced Dara as a content creator, not as Lande’s wife. They asked if I had a Qatar connection before suggesting we play ‘Truth or Dare’.
“Once we started the game, Marygold went completely naked and kept daring me and Dara while drinking alcohol to avoid some tasks. Rather than asking me ‘Truth’ questions, they kept giving me ‘Dares’.
“At one point, Marygold dared Dara to let me have a ‘quick’ sexual intercourse with her, and she agreed. The reason I initially denied sleeping with Lande’s wife was because Marygold never introduced her as such. I am now realizing it was a setup by both of them to tarnish my image.”
Following his admission, Esabod advised Baba Tee to publicly apologise to Lande, noting that his initial denial and legal threats made the situation more painful for the comedian.
In a swift reaction, Baba Tee issued a brief apology to Lande on his official Facebook page on Monday.
He wrote, “I am deeply sorry from the bottom of my heart, brother, Lande. Deep how Dara became Lande’s wife without my knowledge…Hmmm. I fear women.”
Meanwhile, Marygold, who is Ijoba Lande’s embattled manager, has been accused of orchestrating the incident and allegedly recording what transpired between Baba Tee and Dara.
