Anambra Lawmaker Justice Azuka Found Dead After Months of Kidnap
The decomposing body of kidnapped Anambra State lawmaker Justice Azuka was discovered on the 2nd Niger Bridge after months of Kidnap.
According to the spokesman of the Anambra State Police Command, Azuka, who represented Onitsha North Constituency 1 in the Anambra State House of Assembly, was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunabankpa Road, Inland Town, Onitsha.
A combined security team found Azuka’s body on the 2nd Niger Bridge after Security operatives from Abuja apprehended the suspects, who led authorities to the location where they had dumped the lawmaker’s remains.
Ikenga said, Â “In the early hours of today, at the second Niger bridge, the Joint Security team… regrettably found his lifeless body at the scene.”
He added that police operatives had been deployed to the scene and that further details would be made known to the public in time.
This incident marks the second kidnapping and murder of a sitting Anambra lawmaker in recent years, following the abduction and beheading of Okey Okoye in 2022.
