Alfred Ifeanyi Legacy Foundation Supports Indigent Students with Textbooks, Exam Fees
In pursuit of fostering the academic endeavours of young people in rural areas, Mr. Alfred Ifeanyi has given back to society through kind and cash support to indigent students in Owa Alero, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Alfred, who made the donations on Friday, January 10, 2025, under his non-profit organization, Alfred Ifeanyi Legacy Foundation, said the gesture was borne out of the desire to support children from local communities in achieving educational success.
Flanked by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, siblings, the chairman of the foundation, Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri, as well as other well-wishers at the presentation ceremony at I.I Erigbuem Commercial Secondary School, Owa-Alero in Ika North East LGA, Delta State, Mr. Alfred noted that giving was part of his culture and decided to take it a step further through a foundation.
He announced the donation of 1,000 Maths and English textbooks for students in the junior section and 500 pieces of the same textbooks for those in the senior section. In addition, the sum of one million naira was also donated to enable certificate students to enrol for their exams.
“This foundation is built to help people, help young people like us because we are the future leaders of tomorrow,” Alfred remarked, underscoring the foundation’s commitment to empowering the next generation.
Alfred emphasized that the textbook donations are just one of many steps the foundation is taking to ensure that students have the resources they need to succeed in their academic pursuits.
Chairman of the foundation, Hon. Elekeokwuri emphasized that the foundation expects the students to demonstrate their engagement with the donated textbooks through their academic results. “It’s important that when you have this book, you must also show us that you have read this book. And the only way we can know that is by your results.”
In appreciation, one of the beneficiaries expressed confidence that the gesture extended to the school and students will be fully utilized. “I want to say a big thank you to the Alfred Ifeanyi Legacy Foundation for the provision of textbooks and financial support. May the good Lord bless, guide, protect, and provide for you all,” she expressed.
Speaking on behalf of his immediate family, Alfred’s father, Mr. Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, popularly known as IfyBros, commended the initiative and giving spirit of his son. He reiterated that the foundation was simply directed to supporting young people and fostering their education, which is the bedrock of any society planning for the future of younger generations.
