Afiesere President General, Umukoro Assures all-inclusive Govt, Unity, Development


The new President General of Afiesere community, Ughelli North local government area of Delta state, Mr. Luke Umukoro, has assured the people of the community of all-inclusive government, unity and open door policy as the community sworn in new executives to pilot the affairs of the community for the next four years.

The newly sworn-in President General, Mr. Luke Umukoro, who gave the assurance during his swearing-in and his executives at the Afiesere community town hall said he has confidence that with the calibre of persons in his executive that has no doubt that they will deliver.

Other excos members also sworn-in are: Mr. Augustine Onodje, Vice President General, Mr. Kingsley Chadere, Secretary General, Mr. Emmanuel Ekama, Treasurer, Mr. Augustine Akponana, PRO, Mr. Marcus Ibodje, Fin. Sec., Mr. Ode Emmanuel, Asst. Sec., Mr. Johnson Odibo, Auditor, Mr. Andrew Akpoyibo , Organ. Sec.

Others are: Mr. Monday Emese, Ex Official, Mr. Thompson Apiloko, Ex Official, Mr. Avrukpere Martins, Ex-Official, Mr. Peter Origbo, Ex Official, Mr. Alfred Ovuede, Ex Official, Mr. Frederick Okonu, Ex Official and Mr. Freeborn Onobruchere, Ex Official.

The Afiesere community eldest man, the Otota r’Ode of Afiesere community, the Divisional Police Officer, Afiesere community, CSP Patrick Uebari, the Security Manager, Heritage Energy and others advised the new executives under the leadership of Mr. Luke Umukoro to be good ambassadors of the community by providing enabling environment for both indigenes and non-indigenes alike, pointing out that they should embrace mutual relationship in their course of serving the community.

The president of the Afiesere community, Mr. Luke Umukoro in his speech commended the outgone President General, Hon. Richard Ovwreghederohwo, aka Aduvie who during the period of the electioneering process provided an enabling environment for the election and the Electoral Committee headed by the Chairman, Oghenedoro Abel and Secretary, Mr Anthony Umukprruo.

Mr. Umukoro promised to listen to all concerns and ideas, foster unity, all-inclusive government, promote economic empowerment, social welfare, enhance community infrastructure and build a brighter future and enjoin all to join him on this journey to make Afiesere a beacon of hope, prosperity and harmony.

He promised to ensure that his administration would usher in peaceful co-existence among members of Afiesere community. He said that he would never disappoint the community over the confidence reposed on him as the new president of Afiesere community.

One of the past Presidents General, Mr. Victor Otumemine who spoke to newsmen on the successful election and swearing-in, thanked God Almighty, the electoral committee, the security agents and other members of the community for peaceful election and supports given to the past President General,  throughout his tenure, advising the new executives to ensure that the well being of the community should be their watchword and utmost priority.

The ceremony’s highlights were the payment of over Seven Hundred Thousand Naira for over One hundred persons in Afiesere community for this free health care services for women with pregnancy till birth, 0-5 years children and another Seven Hundred Thousand Naira payment for registration for the adults free medical health care service.
