ADUN Matriculates 352 New Students For 2023/2024 Academic Session
The Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) Ibusa, Delta State, has matriculated no fewer than 352 students who the management of the institution said met the condition for admission criteria for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Paul Omojo Omaji, while speaking at the institution’s 6th matriculation ceremony charged the newly admitted students to adhere to the university’s regulations and contribute responsibly to the institution.
According to him, “I hereby charge you matriculants to approach your studies with dedication and make full use of the state-of-the-art technological equipment and ICT facilities available for your academic advancement.
“Embark on a studious academic journey, making the serene environment of Admiralty University of Nigeria your conducive home for success,” he said.
Prof. Omaji also stated that the University, which was initially owned by the Nigerian Navy is now a Federal University through an Act assented to by the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) on 8th February 2023 and is devoted to consistently provide world-class teaching and research facilities.
Recalling the remarkable progress the institution has achieved over the past 6years, the VC said the University’s humble beginnings had grown to have the following; “FACULTY OF ARTS, MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES, FACULTY OF LAW, and FACULTY OF SCIENCE with over 18 programmes”.
He said all the programmes offered at the institution have been accredited and approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and other relevant professional bodies.
On his part, the Secretary to Delta State Government, Dr Kingsley Eze Emu delivered the Matriculation Lecture, titled: “Archiving Career Objectives in a Challenging Economy: The Role of government and Universities in Partnership”.
He thanked the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Paul Omojo Omaji, the entire academic staff and students for the great honour and assured the University of the State Government’s commitment to supporting the institution towards achieving its goals and objectives as a citadel of learning.
