2Baba Opens Up About Handling Online Criticism
Nigerian music sensation 2Baba has shared his approach to dealing with public backlash, revealing that he has developed a thick skin to handle criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
In a recent interview on Binging With Game Changers, the 49-year-old singer admitted that negative comments can be painful but do not define him as a person.
2Baba emphasized the importance of growing a thick skin to navigate the challenges of public scrutiny. “For me, I just knew that I had to stand up to my responsibility. Sometimes, things happen, and people talk all kinds of jokes and malicious comments. It hurts. It gets to you sometimes,” he said.
The singer further stressed the need to maintain a positive attitude in the face of criticism. “But know that this is the way of the world, you just have to be able to try and grow some thick skin and say ‘You know what, I am still going to keep my head high because I know that where I am going is bigger and better than all this stuff’.
“And I know that does not define me. It does not make me a monster. Within you, you have to cheer yourself up. Sometimes you watch a comedy show. Sometimes, you laugh at jokes made about you. Always try to turn every situation into positive,” he said.
2Baba’s comments come amid a wave of backlash from the public and celebrities like Toke Makinwa, following his highly publicized split from Annie Idibia and subsequent relationship with Natasha Osawaru, an Edo lawmaker.
“For me, I know that the moment I start worrying too much, it becomes more problem. I know that there is a solution to everything that comes up,” he said.
Recall that the singer proposed to Osawaru in February, and she recently updated her Instagram bio to include his surname.
