2023, Year of Restoration – Ogieh


The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia Ogieh, has said the new year will mark the advancement of Delta State and the restoration of the great destiny of Nigeria and urged citizens across the country to embrace the year with positive spirit.

Ogieh who holds the highly esteemed traditional title of the Udu of Isoko Nation made the declaration in his new year message released on Sunday, January 1.

The message called on Deltans and Nigerians to work with collective consciousness and action towards the rescue and reset of the nation away from the prevalent hardship and insecurity experienced in the past seven and half years.

The statement titled “Welcome To The Year Of Restoration” and signed by him read:

“As we enter the new year, 2023, I wish first to thank the Almighty God and congratulate all Nigerians, Deltans and the indigenes of the mandate area of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, for the gift of life and good health.

“It is an election year and, indeed, a year of hope for the revival and restoration of the great destiny of our nation.

“I therefore urge all Deltans to brace up with positive spirit to Advance Delta as well as to enjoin Nigerians to join hands in the mission to Rescue and Reset Nigeria onto the path of prosperity and well being of all our citizens.

“The critical steps towards this process is to ensure the collection of our Personal Voters Card (PVC), turn out to vote on election days, and in very peaceful manner.

“It is my prayer that, by our collective consciousness and action, 2023 will mark the departure of our nation from the hardship and insecurity, inflicted on the citizenry in the past seven and half years, and march onto a glorious future.
