2019: Olivia Agbajoh Joins Delta South Senatorial Race

… Says District Most Backwards.

Former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Olivia Agbajoh has declared her intention to run for the Senatorial race to represent Delta South Senatorial District in 2019.

Hon. Agbajoh, former Commissioner in Delta State, who made her intention known at a Press Conference in Warri, Delta State, to mark her birthday, lamented that in spite of the fact that Delta South Senatorial District is the most important district in the nation, it still remains the most backward in terms of development.

She noted that the developmental situation of Delta South Senatorial District does not reflect the abundance of wealth that it generated to the Federal Government, attributing this to lack of adequate representation by their representatives at the National Assembly.

She said her desire to run for the Delta South Senatorial race was borne out of the fact that the Legislative Arm of Government is the the core advocacy channel to attract development to her people.

She said, “It is on this note that I, Chief (Hon) Olivia Agbajoh, a Warri based Legal Practitioner is offering myself to serve as a Senator to represent Delta South Senatorial District come 2019. This quest is borne out of the fact that I know I have what it takes to give the people of Delta South effective Representation.

“My entire life journey has prepared me for this task and I have been tested and proven. In my brief stay in the Federal House of Representatives in 1983, I was able to among other things, attract the Naval Base to be established in Warri. Imagine what I would have been able to do if that dispensation was not truncated by a coup. Now imagine what I would be able to attract and do as a Senator.”

“I will also get involved in Youth Development, women empowerment and many more projects to uplift the people of this Senatorial District. I have earlier said I know I have the prerequisite qualification to give my people effective representation at the Senate and my life journey has prepared me for this task,” Hon Agbajoh added.
